How do you spot a genuine PSV shirt?

You recognise a genuine PSV shirt by the correct kit maker and main sponsor for that season, the finish of the crest and stitching, and the matching wash label. The well-known, long-running main sponsor is Philips, the electronics company from the same city that gave the club its name. Kit makers changed over the years: PSV wore shirts by Nike, among others, and earlier by other brands. So pay attention to the combination of kit-maker logo, sponsor print and wash label per era. We check this before every sale.

Vintage or retro, what are you really buying?

Vintage is an original shirt from the season itself; retro is a later re-released design. At Kick & Rush we sell original shirts only. If you want a genuine piece of history that's unique and scarce, vintage is the right choice. If you mainly want the classic design affordably and wearable in your own size, a retro reissue (elsewhere) may suit you better, we deliberately don't stock those.

Original vintage or a replica from the official fan shop?

An original vintage shirt is unique, genuinely from that era and scarce; a replica from the official fan shop is new, in every size and endlessly available. If you want a collector's item with history, choose vintage. If you're after a brand-new shirt from the current season to wear carefree, the official replica makes more sense. We're here for the first.

How does a vintage PSV shirt fit?

Football shirts usually fit normal to slightly roomy; older shirts (before 2000) sometimes a touch smaller. Because vintage sizing varies, it's better to go by the measured dimensions than the label size. Ask for them: we lay the exact shirt flat and give chest width (pit-to-pit) and length (collar-to-hem) in centimetres. So you buy on the measurements of this shirt.

Why do the prices differ?

The price of a vintage PSV shirt depends on rarity, season and special features (think a player name, an iconic season or an autograph). Because every shirt is unique and never remade, original shirts are sought after by collectors. You'll find shirts here in various price ranges, the current price is shown with each shirt; signed and rare pieces sit higher.

Which PSV shirts are the most iconic?

Every PSV era has its own recognisable shirt. The most sought after by collectors is the red-and-white home shirt of the European Cup I-winning side of 1988, with, among others, Ronald Koeman. In the decades after, some of the world's best strikers shone at PSV too: Romário, Ronaldo (the Brazilian), Ruud van Nistelrooy and earlier Ruud Gullit. PSV has worn the classic home shirt in the red-and-white club colours for generations; it's the away shirts that vary strongly in design per season, which makes them rare.

Home, away or goalkeeper, what makes them special?

The home shirt is the recognisable red and white and barely changes over the years, the safest, most recognisable choice. The away shirts are exactly where the bold, unusual designs live, changing per season and therefore sought after. Goalkeeper shirts are the rarest: small runs, an entirely own colour and cut. A plain shirt you can wear and display yourself. Framed, you make it interior-ready straight away; we frame it professionally and deliver it to your home in person. Signed (with certificate of authenticity) is the most exclusive, a collector's and showpiece item. Buying it as a gift and unsure about the size? Choose framed or a gift voucher, then size is no issue.

Match-worn, match-issue or retail?

Not every special shirt is the same. Match-worn means actually worn in a match; match-issue is the player specification, prepared for a match; retail is the fan version sold at the time. For match-worn shirts we state the provenance. So you know exactly what you're buying.

Delivery, showroom and returns

Order on a working day before 12:00 and your PSV shirt ships the same day, with track & trace. Delivery time: 1-2 working days in the Netherlands, 2-3 in Belgium and a little longer in the rest of Europe. Framed shirts we deliver to your home in person. Prefer to see it first? Visit our showroom in 's-Gravenzande (by appointment; closed on Sundays only). Returns are possible within 14 days in original, unworn condition (return costs at your own expense; signed and framed shirts excluded).
